Rich, silky layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers drenched in sweet espresso, wrapped in a dreamy marsala-mascarpone cream, and finished with a cloud of vanilla whipped cream and cocoa. The ultimate Italian indulgence that melts in your mouth — dangerously addictive with every bite!

Ingredients

  • 8 egg yolks
  • ½ bottle Marsala
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 lb mascarpone cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream (for the filling)
  • ¼ box powdered sugar (for the filling)
  • ½ pot double strength coffee
  • 1½ cups sugar (for the coffee soak)
  • 2 packs lady fingers
  • 1 qt heavy cream (for the topping)
  • 1 ½ Tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for the topping)

Instructions

  1. Make Zabayione. Over a double boiler, whisk together 1 cup sugar and ½ bottle Marsala and then 8 yolks. Over medium heat, whisk until soft peaks form and it is dull yellow in color. Place in a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment and turn on low speed until cooled.
  2. Whip 2 cups heavy cream and ¼ box powdered sugar to soft peaks.
  3. Once yolk mixture has cooled, add to 2 lb mascarpone and mix until blended. Fold in the whipped cream.
  4. Mix together ½ pot double strength coffee and 1½ cups sugar. Using lady fingers, one at a time, dip into coffee mixture until slightly soaked, laying each finger in a shallow hotel pan. Add 1 layer of mascarpone filling, another layer of lady fingers, and 1 more layer of filling.
  5. Whip together 1 qt heavy cream, ½ Tbsp vanilla extract, and ¼ cup powdered sugar to make whipped cream. Top tiramisu with cream, sprinkle with cocoa and refrigerate until set.
